Attach Files at the bottom of the edit box.  No bigger than 1MB though, so resize it, or whatever.  Other than that, host the image somewhere and link to it.

As far as I know, but brianb would need to confirm, a pdf file needs to be hosted on a web site to allow access. The problem with pdf, as I have found, is that not everybody has adobe reader on their machine but I doubt that applies to the forum readership.

To  attach a photograph, you need it to bein jpg format and a reasonable size and on the machine you are posting from (or on your network anyway) and if you look below the box where you write your posts is a box "Attach Files". Click the browse button and it will look, under your guidance for the jpg file you want to post. If you want to add a second then click attach (and add more) box.
If the pics too big, delete the post and have another go.

You can also upload small music files. Someone asked about the now (in)famous advert for Newbury back in the days of 210FM. Rogers G was it?.  I posted it quite successfully (after losing some of the quality - it has to be said) but most types of files can be uploaded.

Wasn't that done by GWR in Swindon?

Have you still got it?

A united front eh?

No sooner S. than D.

Interestingly, it must be nearly 10 years old. (the more things change, the more they remain the same)

My expectation is that the thread will quite rightly be deleted after a couple of days. We've had our fun but we do need to settle down to the matters in hand. Bin lorries and taxi ranks.

I had a chat with somebody yesterday about this forum, and they were telling me how fun it used to be with people posting things. Maybe we should have a thread just for funny images etc?

The poster who is knowledgeable but also posts really amusing stuff is Threep but because it's a bit close to the knuckle sometimes, it gets deleted. The best effort was the Newbury WBC news sheet but that seems to have gone.

I am as nought but dust compared to 'FactFile' (The Mighty Mistress of Darkness herself). She could do things with Photoshop that would make yer eyes water.

Sadly she chooses to grace us with her presence no more.

I believe Admin still has some contact with her though.

As to my posts disappearing, that's entirely up to Admin. Although I did try and find out which bit was responsible for the last one going as I could have always changed that particular section. However, Admin has to judge if a piece will cause more trouble that it's worth, or cause friction with other bodies, so in the end what he says goes.

Apparently it had something to do with bondage gear, as that's the only excuse that was given to me. It's still doing the rounds on facebook and email, the council obviously rang admin to get him to pull it before it spread, but by that time it was everywhere!!! They obviously have given up trying to keep it under wraps, as it's posted everywhere on facebook and would be impossible to remove it from all those pages.

I think she said she would look in from time to time but not post.  Is so I am sure we would all like to blow her a kiss.  xxx

It wasn't posted as 'bondage gear' though. I merely wanted the visual equivalent of someone being told "ffs....just sit there and shut up". The prurient observation that it's 'something to do with bondage'  probably says more about the complainant than they would really like us to know.

That was my point to the person who said it implied Pamela Bale was in bondage gear... The person who raised the bondage argument posts on the forums, maybe they will explain their reasoning!!!

Not necessarily - I'm no prude - but still find the thought of Pamela Bale in bondage gear quite frightening

So is it compulsory for councillors to have their sense of humour removed after election?

What's more worrying is the censorship of the media, albeit only a local forum with a very limited readership.  Whatever is happening to our great tradition of satire. Was this any worse than Spitting Images protrayal of the Thatcher and Major cabinets?

If you, or any Councillors you may know have been affected by any of the subjects covered here, please contact us on  Boo.hoo.hoo@no-one gives a toss.com

If you are an officer of a council and you've been told to stifle comments / free speech / humour on the internet.....try here if the self-loathing becomes too great:
