On the road maintenance link on their website - ( http://www.westberks.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=23199 ) there's a spreadsheet that lists the full length of Brummell Road for treatment on their road surfacing programme.  (Micro asphalt will be the resurfacing type if anyone knows what that is..... or cares) so it should get done some time this FY.  There's no date listed on the spreadsheet.

A 'suggestion' of June given to Richard in a phone call is hardly a definitive, rubber stamped, nailed-on date is it.  I suspect it's more a 'delay-comment' used when difficult customers phone up.....

Brummell Road has Robert Sandiland's School on it.   Loads of parents (and forum users   ) complain when roads near schools are closed... "Why don't they wait till school holidays?" they moan....  Stick to an arbitrary 'June date' to satisfy the local Labour individual and the Council would be shafted... Adjust it to allow for school holidays and others complain they haven't stuck to programme....

jeesh... !

I noticed that Highways have done rather well in receiving staff bonuses (market supplements in council speak).

Trebles all round!

2010/11 £115,220; to 36 employees, 6 of whom were women; maximum £19,100 - next highest £7,000 - minimum £500; Paid to officers within ICT (17); Officers within the Highways Service [18]; Officer within the Planning Service (1)

OK User23, which of these bonuses did you collect in your efforts to deflect criticism for WBC on both local forums?

Are you on top dollar?

£19,100 is more than a years salary to some people.

I didn't request June, nor did the Labour Party. I simply reported the date given to me. Summer Holidays would be the sensible time in my opinion too.

I will chase it up with a call, but maybe it's the summer holidays the workers are waiting for as otherwise suggested on this thread? It would be nice to know when it's going to be done, and if they change a date they should notify residents.
