I think if it did survive more than 150 years it would become a well regarded local building. Surving that long would increase its chances of surviving much longer.  Problem is I don't think architects build with this in mind. They design down to  cost. The result is little what we would call 'classical' architecture.

I have to agree with you here, but I understand that materials are recyclable.  As building requirements change, this is understandable.
