I just stumbled upon this group:

Anyone know who is behind it, or who translated the spoof video? I see User23 even gets a mention!!!

I believe it was started by a regular here.

I see you haven't answered my question about how you'd stop the overspend, in the other thread.

I will answer it, I'm just a bit concerned that the council won't let me prepare an alternative budget. Maybe you could have a work for me???

The scenario is completely fictional and not connected to any existing council.

Why on earth should the council encourage you to prepare an alternative budget?

As for the Save Victoria Park group on facebook - its pretty obvious who started it - his name and picture are on almost every post.

There appear to be two on Facebook.

Save Victoria park Newbury
And
Save Victoria park Newbury from development.

I admit to the second. No idea about the first which is perhaps a little frivolous.

The Tories and Liberals have access to all of the data they wish, why not anyone else??

Is it because they are elected councillors and you are not.

Talk about a lack of transparency.  I suppose turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

Surely this what he 'Big Society' is about.  It encourages people who have skills to use them.  If parents can run their own schools, surely others who have the skills can prepare an alternative budget.  Councillors are not trained to their job, they are butchers, bakers and candle stick makers.  An alternative budget may throw up ideas that the council has not thought of.

Why?  It is one way of monitoring who goes on certain sites.  Not all sites or video's are as innocent as this one.  You can always delete your 'membership' after use.

Let's face it, the "Big Soicety" is all about cutting Government support and saving money, and basically asking community groups to do it all themselves. I don't want to be part of it, I'd rather be part of the Good Society. There's only one sort of person who will be better off under any Tory Government, and I'm not rich enough to be in that group of people.
