It wasn't so bad as the one at Sainsbury's on Friday night, but yesterday an elderly lady crashed into the bollards on Pound Lane, Thatcham. I did my best to keep her warm with tea, and waited with her until the recovery truck arrived (write off I think), but this incident highlights the dangerous speed of which people travel along Pound Lane. Fair play to Keith Woodhams to raising the issue, but a reduced speed limit won't stop people from speeding on what is now effectively a rat run. The current limit is 30, but in the evening you can see cars whizzing by at upto 60... I would suggest a second part be added to the current half chicane outside veolia waste depot, then two speed ramps between the A4 and the chicane. Something must be done, or somebody will either be hit by a car one day, or a car will end up in somebody's garden or even their front room!!!

Getting a little bored of him to be honest... he can never defend the council, so instead tries to pick at other peoples posts. I would love to know who he really is... problem is, he will always hide behind his fake user name... Obviously somebody with something to hide!!!

I can see why some people get annoyed with him, but it just makes me realise how much I want to get into Market Street and start making a difference!!!

You'll need to sack some of the paid staff to make a difference !!

I don't like the word sack... But "performance management" is something I am familiar with... Obviously the current administration don't do any of that...

There is a Pound Lane in Newbury, well Speen to be presise, second left after the Shell filling station. An interesting feature is the "sheeps pound" where stray sheep were once penned and from which the road derives its name still exists alongside the A4.

Yes, you're right actually.

My point was this isn't anything to do with Newbury and seems to be more electioneering from Richard.

Since when has Speen been in Newbury; according to your 'rules'?

I don't see a problem with that, in this case.

So there is a Pound Lane in Speen and a Pound Lane in Thatcham - but there still isn't one in Newbury.

I think it is because he likes to play games.  He also seems to 'have it in' for Richard and is seeking to ruin anything he posts that has a political stance.

Not so much a political stance, there was yet another crash outside my house and I've suggested how to fix it. Maybe because my opinion is different to that of the officers at West Berks, User23 can't quite help but try to distort the thread with more pointless comments!!!

Here we go again, rubbishing my comments as "pointless" because you've got no counter point yourself. How rude.

Isn't there a Thatcham forum you could post stuff like this on?

Since when have you been given mod status?  Newbury is our local constituency, so until the Admin clarify what is and is not local, I see no problem.  If anyone is rude I think it is you - but that is what you want, isn't it?  It helps you achieve your desire to spread forum graffiti on these types of threads.

Why should he have to when the heading of this board states "Got something to say? Why not tell us about it here? You can create your own topics or join in with others. Local topics only please!"

I'm pretty sure that Thacham is local to Newbury

Strange thing about Thatcham.
I asked if anybody wanted to see a few of the older Thatcham pictures that I had. I asked this before posting as a courtesy to both the forum and its members.
Guess who was the first to reply.

Correct, it was User 23  "I'd like to see them. "

I've always thought it means local news about Newbury myself in the description of this particilar bit of the forum, but am prepared to be corrected by Admin.

Now, firstly the area for photos is a completely different section and secondly I didn't see Richard asking anyone if they wanted to hear his views on Thatcham as brian did with his pictures,

So Idiot 23 why where you so keen to see Thatcham photos on the Photos thread???

You really do belittle your own postings by being so stupid and anal at times.

Are you like this in WBC meetings??

I personally would try looking up a word that I don't know in a thesaurus before posting something like this, otherwise you can come across as a bit stupid if you are trying to imply the other poster has made the word up!  To save you the time on this occasion I have listed some of the meanings below:

Double-dealing
Two-faced
Tricky
Deceitful
Dishonest
Disloyal
Unfaithful
Treacherous

I personally can't believe anybody who works for WBC would be any of these.

Do you honestly think that it is worth using words that people have to look up..What a waste of valuable time!
But thanks anyway, I'm sure someone will be interested.

I used a word I don't have to look up.  In any case,  it takes...seconds!

Open a Google search and type: define <insert word that you want defined>

e.g.

define duplicitous

Well, you've rumbled my plan to monopolise that junction for my own political gain!!!

Three / four cars involved, one in particular was pretty crunched up at the front and a nice BMW had a bit of damage. None on their roof though, which is always good!!!

I think you are being a little unkind there. In general almost everyone who posts is genuine in what they have to say and join in with the debate in a sensible and usually fairly articulate way. Sometimes we may have to struggle to understand their sense of humour, but we do have few silly posters that tend to break the continuity of the thread.
