Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in the underpass of the Robin Hood roundabout last night (18th August) in Newbury.

Between 10pm to 10.30pm a 46-year-old man was walking through the underpass when he was pushed to the ground from behind, banging his head and falling unconscious. His wallet containing £80 in cash was stolen along with his house keys.

The victim sustained injuries to his face and knees but did not require hospital treatment.

If you witnessed any one acting suspiciously in the area or running away from the area, contact Det Con John Yallop at Newbury police station via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you do not wish to speak to police you can contact Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.

They solved the problems at Sainsbury underpass by switching on the pedestrian crossing above ground.  Why not do similar with the Robin Hood underpass?

Would not need more, the traffic has to stop anyway.  Just change them so they allow pedestrians to cross.

Either she's not very observant - or perhaps she is doing her make-up when she is driving round the Robin Hood
