This was the comment i recieved tonight whilst parking outside Robert Dyas when waiting for a student to finish work. The green giant continued to say that if i hadnt move in 5 minutes he would book me. He then continued up the raod towards the Clock Tower, passing 4 more vehicles which were all unattended and did nothing. After about 4 minutes he returned and said he was going to give me a ticket unless i moved straight away. I explained i was waiting oi pick up a student and he said "tough just move mate". I asked why he had not booked the other vehicles and he said he had but i when i asked where he had put the tickets i was told it was nothing to do with me how he did his job. Have these green giants (idiots) been trained in customer care ?
Speed limits probably don't apply to driving instructors either when they're trying to get to their next customer. Have seen a fair number of driving instructors on the phone while driving, presumably letting their next customer know they're late/on their way......
At least he said 'Mate' Brian...... As you said yourself.. "I was WAITING outside Robert Dyas..." Are you another driver who uses the Pedestrian Zone with his eyes closed.? The bollards may have been down after 6pm but you still will have gone past a big yellow sign saying something like 'NO ROAD MARKINGS IN PED ZONE - OBEY NO WAITING SIGNS' Presumably you then parked up right next to a sign saying 'NO WAITING AT ANY TIME'
The other cars were more than likely Disabled Badge Holders, who are allowed to park within the ped area for 3 hours. I suPpose you didn't check that, did you?
Quite frankly Brian, is it really any of your business what a traffic warden is doing? I would suggest no. If it ain't your car, then mind your own business and follow the rules of the road like everyone else is required to do. I'm the biggest fan of the Green Delights, they have cured the problem of inconsiderate idiots parking down my road, and if you break the rules, then you derserve all you get. No-one can disagree with that.
LONG LIVE THE GREEN MEANIES!!
p,s and yes he was parked next to a sign, there is one right outside robert dyas. I hope you don't pass on your bad habits to your students
Having driven through the same place tonight and stopped in roughly the same place, there were more than 12 cars parked there 1 was a poilce car and the driver was in Tescos buying a sandwich. Not 1 green giant in sight
I would assume they're not omnipresent these Green Meanies.... ??! (just a guess... especially on a Saturday when there may be fewer on shift and they're more conerned with looking after off car parks) If they were 'hanging around in Northbrook Street' they would probably be accused of, well, ermm ..hanging around in Northbrook Street instead of out patrolling...
As Lovejoy says... (Too) Many drivers jump lights.... (especially at the Robin Hood) Too many people speed (I do it too on motorways...) and many people chance their arm at getting away with parking without a ticket or just ignoring the parking lines... Most times you get away with it, but occassionally you'll get caught and be told "Oi, you can't park there mate....."
