DO YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS IN NEWBURY?
All Newbury residents are invited to join Newbury Town Councillors in the Town Hall, Council Chamber on Monday 29 March commencing at 7.00 pm for the Annual Town Meeting.
A presentation of the past year’s achievements will be made and the Town Council’s aspirations for the future will be outlined. The themes of the meeting will be “Review” and it will also be an opportunity for all residents to put forward their views on what they like and dislike about the town as well as to present ideas on things that could be done to improve the town for everyone. It is the responsibility of all of us to help ensure that the town is as pleasant a place to live, work and visit for our grandchildren (and their grandchildren), as it is for us.
As residents, this is your meeting and your opportunity to ask questions and raise issues regarding our town. Please do come along and make your comments and suggestions. Your Town Councillors will be there to listen and help.
In addition, the Newbury Town Civic Award and Newbury Town Young Persons Civic Award, sponsored by SWIFT will take place. This annual event recognises some of the town’s unsung heroes of all ages – those people who have made an exceptional contribution to our community on a voluntary basis. They may work with one of our established voluntary groups, or they may simply be a good neighbour.
