Shakin’ The Tree, 51 Northbrook Street, Newbury

October 2009: A brand new home and gift experience arrives in Newbury with the launch of Shakin’ the Tree. This must-visit lifestyle emporium is launching its Autumn Winter 2009 collection with great quality giftware, Christmas decorations, botanically accurate artificial flowers and home accessories from premium brands such as SIA and Parlane, all available at affordable prices.

Founders Rob and Allanah have extensive experience in high end interiors and giftware and are on hand to offer bespoke advice on all your home and gift-buying needs. What’s more, Shakin’ The Tree is the exclusive SIA and Parlane stockist for Newbury, Basingstoke, Hungerford and Reading areas, so you can rest assured your treasured buys won’t be found in every living room in the area! Rob and Allanah hand-pick each item themselves and carry limited numbers of each item and, with stock constantly updated with the season’s trends, repeat visits are a must.

Shakin’ The Tree opens its doors on Thursday 29th October and with only two pay days to go until Christmas, now is the time to stock up those essential Christmas decorations, accessories and gift ideas. You can find the team at the heart of Northbrook Street, Newbury – near the clock tower.

"High end interiors" - sounds faintly obscene, doesn't it?  As does the idea of selling Xmas decorations in October.  When the Noobree Party sweeps to power next May selling Xmas related stuff before Remembrance Day will become a criminal offence.

I am sure Shakin the Tree is very lovely, but they do not have SIA and Parlane Products exclusively to themselves ! They can also be found at Wyevale, Hilliers, Cargo Homeshop and Glynis's Garden. My advice to you Christmas Shoppers is look around !! eg Cargo Homeshop have Reindeer T-Lite table decorations for £20 ......... the very same thing is in Glynis's Garden (Batholomew Street) for £12.

Yes, I own Glynis's Garden actually, we have allsorts of unusual and pretty gifts, candles and toys - pop in and have a look - we are very reasonably priced! It's at 59 Bartholomew Street, next door to Barry Forkin

I went into Shakin' the Tree at the weekend and really loved it!  I got some really beautiful decorations and some great presents and think it brings some real class and style to Northbrook Street.  I've also heard that you can get 10% off candles and all candle accessories there next weekend

Do you mean Bartholomew Street?

If Sandra F meant Bartholomew Street (which she didn't), she would have been talking about Tiger Tiger another nice giftware shop. Then there's the one in Market Place, Images, full of great ideas for Christmas presents.

My mistake, I was, as you say, mixing it up with Tiger Tiger. Not that I would have spent much time in any of them as they don't sell tools.

Heh! 10 out of 10 for noticing there were shops that didn't sell tools though

That's an "other shops are also available" line after Sandra F's plug, if ever I heard it.
